About Benjamin

Benjamin Zohar is a Nationally Certified Advanced Clinical Intervention Professional (NCACIP) and founder of Intervention New York. With over a decade of experience in addiction recovery services, Benjamin specializes in structured family intervention, clinical placement, benefits coordination, and long-term recovery planning.

Originally from Cornwall, NY, Benjamin's commitment to community service began as a volunteer firefighter, where he learned the importance of rapid response and supporting others in crisis. His personal journey of recovery informs his compassionate, evidence-based approach to helping individuals and families find pathways to healing and sustained wellness.

As a Nationally Certified Advanced Clinical Intervention Professional, Benjamin possesses advanced competencies in structured intervention models (including Surprise, Invitational, and RAAD methodologies), Motivational Interviewing techniques, and comprehensive case management. His expertise encompasses treatment placement pre-qualification, family systems therapy, dual diagnosis coordination, and navigating complex insurance and legal frameworks. Benjamin specializes in addressing substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and behavioral addictions across diverse populations—from adolescents to executives. His approach integrates ethical persuasion, crisis de-escalation, and evidence-based clinical assessment to guide clients and their families through the continuum of care, from emergency intervention through long-term recovery support.

As a medical content contributor, Benjamin develops evidence-based educational resources focused on addiction treatment navigation, family support, and behavioral healthcare. His work is grounded in clinical accuracy, ethical practice, and trauma-informed care.
