Chemical Dependence Residential Stabilization Center
Catholic Charities Talbot House is a drug rehab and residential detox center in Bohemia, Suffolk County, licensed by the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). Operated by Catholic Charities since 1987, we are a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to serving Long Island families facing addiction crises. We provide 24/7 medically monitored withdrawal management for adult men and women (18+) experiencing substance use crises. One of our most important commitments: we will not deny services based on your ability to pay. We accept most major health plans, Medicare, Medicaid, and Medicaid Managed Care. Even if you don't have insurance, you can still get the help you need through our sliding fee scale tailored to your unique financial situation.
Why families trust Talbot House: Unlike private, for-profit rehabs, we are mission-driven by Catholic Charities' values of compassion, dignity, and service to those in need. We don't have aggressive marketing or luxury amenities—instead, we focus on what matters most: safe, medically sound crisis stabilization and warm handoffs to appropriate continuing care. Our commitment to financial accessibility and transparent, honest treatment sets us apart as a trusted community resource for over three decades.
With residential care at Talbot House, you'll live on-campus among peers in recovery within a safe, structured environment designed to help you manage withdrawal symptoms before transitioning to your next level of care. Once you reach stabilization, our team conducts a warm handoff and refers you to appropriate continuing treatment programs across Long Island.
You'll benefit from 24/7 medical monitoring, medication assisted treatment (MAT), psychiatric evaluations, and both group and individual counseling. These approaches address not only the physical symptoms of withdrawal but also help you get to the core of your addiction and build essential coping skills. What sets Talbot House apart is our vocational and insurance counseling services—we ensure you gain vital skills to reach your employment and financial goals, secure proper insurance coverage, and find steady work. This foundation helps you move forward with long-term stability and confidence in your recovery journey.
